Cholesterol and Sex HormonesThe CHOLESTEROL THEORYFACT OR FICTION?Reduce your cholesterol and be free of heart trouble. That has been the battle cry for the war on heart disease. Well, don't hold your breath waiting for America to lose weight because they have now cut down on their dietary intake of saturated fats and cholesterol. Research at the National Institute of Health recently revealed that during the last seven years, the average weight of young adult Americans has actually increased by ten pounds! Despite eating less fat, Americans are fatter than ever. As you already know all your hormones are all made from cholesterol (cortisol, adrenaline, testosterone, estrogen, DHEA and, of course, progesterone. The bottom line is that you need cholesterol to survive. It is the primary structural component of every cell in your body. Decreasing its levels too much may have devastating consequences on liver function and your hormone production. Remove even 30 percent or less of the cholesterol in your red blood cells, and its membrane disintegrates. The fact is that there is no association between high cholesterol and death from heart disease in people over seventy, the group in which a lifetime of high cholesterol should theoretically do the most damage. No diet study has ever been conducted to demonstrate a decrease in mortality in patients with cholesterol between 240 and 300 mg/dl. The truth is that more than 80% of your daily cholesterol production comes from your own liver, not from your diet. The 1985 Nobel Prize in Medicine was awarded for understanding how one enzyme called HMG CoA reductase controls the rate at which the liver produces cholesterol and HMG CoA reductase is under control of the hormonal system, specifically insulin. Guess what type of a diet causes insulin to go up? The one and only diet that everyone is telling you to eat, high carbohydrates with low fat and low protein! The high carbohydrate diet your doctor puts you on is causing more cholesterol to be produced by your liver, so now you need a cholesterol-lowering drug. The newest of these drugs is lovastatin from the Helsinki study that now acts on the HMG CoA reductase enzyme in the liver. It really works wonders on lowering cholesterol. As a result, it has been so aggressively marketed that it is now among the biggest selling drugs in the world. That's wonderful, but hold your horses. Lovastatin has been shown by a number of investigators to have a very disturbing side effect. It increases the patients' level of arachidonic acid, which is a fatty acid that makes thrombaxane. When thromboxane A2 is injected in rabbits it causes almost instant blood clotting and death. Oops! Cholesterol lowering drugs appears to be a very questionable and possibly lethal way to reduce heart disease. Let's examine the cholesterol theory a little closer. The cholesterol theory is that the cholesterol is coming from your diet. If the theory is that cholesterol is coming from your diet, then let us challenge the theory and eat even more cholesterol and see if the cholesterol goes even higher because we are eating more. The highest cholesterol food is eggs. So let 5 put you on a straight egg diet. All you can eat all day is eggs. Eggs for breakfast, eggs for lunch and eggs for dinner. Your logical mind tells you that your cholesterol would obviously go up? Wrong! It goes down. Oops! Scratch that theory. It goes down because the high-carbohydrates went down and the protein and fat went up. I'm not advocating a straight egg diet, but it is simply to get you to see the importance of this subject matter. Because fat does not make you fat, insulin does. There are ways to increase insulin at too much food at any one meal, or eat too many carbohydrates. Americans do both simultaneously. These two factors cause your body to produce more of the insulin hormone and thereby more fat. Without enough protein (amino acids) and fat (remember 30% protein, 30% fat) you Will not be able to produce your natural hormones (because they are made from cholesterol) and build your immune system. Also, remember all the low fat, low cholesterol processed foods have decane in them. Decane is a isometric liquid paraffin wax used to pull out the cholesterol. When you buy "low cholesterol, fat free" foods they have the toxic chemical solvent decane in them from pulling out the fat and some solvent still remains. These types of foods are highly processed, not natural. The food industry is pushing these types of food because they are making millions off of your lack of knowledge of thinking that high cholesterol is coming from your diet. Some people have developed what is called "fat intolerance." That means they cannot eat foods high in fat because it upsets them. It is not eggs, meat or other types of fat that are the problem. But more important is a inefficient liver/gallbladder system. A clogged gallbladder means a choked liver and fat digestion is not happening. Certain types of food, meats, cheese and other high fat foods, upset you easily so you avoid them, thinking you're OK if you just avoid those foods. It is not normal to have those foods bother you if your liver, gall ~adder and bile systems are functioning properly. That is why you are sick, have high cholesterol and your hormones are out of balance. You must clean up the liver and correct the cause of the problem by doing a natural liver cleanse called Hepocom. Then you will be able to eat food that is natural following the Carbohydrate Control Nutrition Program, the way nature made it, even if it is high in cholesterol you will not have high cholesterol. You will even lose weight and feel great because you can manufacture steroids and turn on your hormoneous system. Health Questions?
